Assistant Materials and Logistics Manager - West Virginia

Role Summary

Manage all aspects of the physical flow and Logistics of materials in a safe and efficient manner. Support the MP&L Manager in all the activities across the board to meet customer demand, inventory levels, inventory accuracy and Logistics costs targets.
 
Key Responsibilities
1.    Manage, control, and direct the operations, activities and personnel engaged in the activities of Material flow, shipping, receiving and Logistics.
2.    Support the MP&L Manager tracking the KPIs of the area, identifying root cause and defining and leading action plans to meet targets in coordination with other functions of the area and other departments such as:
•    Inventory Accuracy
•    Fork trucks down time
•    Delivery performance

3.    Perform all aspects of continuous improvement of the area to achieve inventory accuracy, on time material availability to the production line and overall productivity of the operation, including but not limited to:
•    Implementation of trains in the material flow to replace forklifts and improve efficiency. Define best routes and flows by interacting with I 4.0 team and simulate the different options.
•     Establish, set, train and audit standard work for all warehouse processes. 
•     Develop and maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance, allocate resources and implement improvements. 
•     Analyze current processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

 

Knowledge and Education

1.    BS Degree in business, management, Engineering, or other related discipline.

 

Work Experience

1.    7+ years’ experience in material control, production scheduling and procurement 
2.     3+ years’ experience directly managing material control activities.
