Job Summary
- Oversee all PLC’s and perform required processes in an efficient in a cost conscious manner.
Job Responsibilities
- Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements
- Understand and comply with all ISO and environmental requirements.
- Health & Safety of self and collogues including outside contractors or support personnel.
- Assist maintenance technicians during major fault issues and help determine repetitive down time causes.
- Help develop corrective and preventive maintenance procedures as well as train maintenance technicians in the use of them.
- Collection, monitoring and implementation of corrective actions for down time issues.
- Be part of engineering change teams and implementation.
- Be current in latest technology and trends concerning stamping operations.
- Implement best practices and products
- Adhere to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
- Performs all required maintenance of automation programs and make changes as needed
- Aids in the development of the automation continuous improvement
- Troubleshoot electrical problems using electrical schematics, programs, and meters
- Complete responsibility in safety PLC procedures and programs
- Monitor the line rate efficiency and improve throughput through PLC changes
- Design and write PLC code in order to improve line efficiency rates and operation of equipment
- Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain RS Net works Control net and Device net systems
- Develop technical illustrations (isometric) as needed
- Develop off-line PLC, Safety PLC & PLS programming
- Maintain current knowledge of PLC technology and advances.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic / Mechanical Engineering / Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years job related experience.
- Can demonstrate work experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Clear understanding of RS Logic 5000, Guard Logix, and Siemens S7
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints
- Strong people skills with a willingness to empower the team
- Effectively able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Clear understanding of Lean Principals & Tools
- Working knowledge of MS Office
