Financial Cost Analyst - West Virginia
Role Summary
Actively applies accounting expertise in the support of functional department needs, financial accounting requirements, and performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work with accounting team to prepare monthly financial package, including accruals calculations, general ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations, and variance bridge analysis.
2. Monthly prepare the full year financial forecast including year to date actuals.
3. Control and analyze balance sheet accounts through periodic reconciliations.
4. Prepare and analyze annual budgets, including sales and cost detail at a material level, and department spending reports.
5. Monthly run standard cost in order to ensure proper inventory values as well as monthly cost.
6. Work with program management to provide financial analysis for potential new business.
7. Track and report departmental spending, reporting variances to budgets and forecasts.
8. Provide financial analysis and follow up for process improvements and capital request expenditures.
9. Interact with manufacturing staff to help achieve continuous improvement and identify cost reduction opportunities.
10. Participate in cross functional kaizen teams.
11. Coordinate with accounting staff annual financial audit.
12. Be actively involved with SAP changes and modifications, and troubleshooting SAP problems.
13. Maintain Key Performance Metrics (KPM), including the measurements of Productivity Roadmap and operational efficiency metrics.
14. Understand inventory analysis and assist with physical inventories and reconciliations.
15. Understand standard cost structures and work with cost accountant to audit standard cost for all materials.
16. Prepare labor and headcount reports, and understand how to forecast and flex labor depending on volume.

Knowledge and Education
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required, prefer masters in accounting or business.
Work Experience
1. Three to six years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with general accounting and cost accounting experience
