Advanced Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Support Gestamp team to do welding process analysis, Welding line layout design review, Welding fixture design review.
• Supplier management, follow up supplier welding line timing plan, Follow up supplier welding line manufacturing in China.
• Track and push supplier forward to optimize welding line.
• Meet production requirement.
• Cooperate work with different department.
• Communicate with oversea Gestamp team, meanwhile responsible for Gestamp local project.
• Related joint technology research and development, standard related updating and modification.
• Develop, implement, deploy and manage Control Plans to ensure the reliability of the processes and product.
• Ensure that all applicable standards of quality are known, understood, implemented and are aligned to meet customer specific requirements.
• Sets and monitors SPC data to ensure delivery of consistent quality from suppliers or to customers.
• Leads and follows-up responds to customer concerns with regards to quality.
• Leads and coordinates the preparation and submission of PPAP/ISIR documents.
• Participate in the checking fixture, holding fixture and inline measurement/testing system buyoff.
• Assists with PFMEAs and APQP activities.
• Participate in the APQP gate reviews, technical reviews etc. and report on the status of plant activities.
• Participate in Poka Yoke feasibility review and implement verifications.
• Maintain Lessons learned data bases to provide feedback for new programs and processes.
• Assists in the development of standardized work processes and process improvements.
• Leads and follows-up with execution and timing of the pre-production build quality requirements.
• Develop, training, implement and monitoring the process inspection WI and GP12 inspection WI based on CP definition, internal and customer requirements to ensure every pre-production build and delivery in a consistent quality.
• Sets standards for determining non-conforming materials and scrap review.
• Leads and follow up Q-loop issues and establish a continued improvement process to push problem solving in a proper way.
• Lead and participate customer audit for process & product release.
• Leads and deploy the process capability study such as Pp/Ppk-Cp/Cpk to through the whole project phase.
• Develop and identify master samples, defect samples and boundary samples use for product/process release and reference guidance.
• Participate the ramp-up activities to identify the risk and define a quality KPI manage the process.
• Responsible for recognizing/selection of special characteristics and forming a list.
• To improve the safety, occupational health and environment protection related with workflow.
• Other activities as related to the scope of the position

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Able to deal with on-site joint technology tryout, quality improvement and issue fix, like laser welding, spot welding, SPR, gluing etc. Have real project experience.
• Familiar with Some OEM welding standard, such as Daimler, VW, BWM etc.
• Be familiar with GD&T.
• Ability to use some conventional tools such as AutoCAD, Office software, CATIA, UG etc. • High skills of operation by hand and on-site issue solving.
• Know the mechanical machining knowledge.
• Good communication skills and team-working spirit.
• Fluent English skills: Ability to work with all levels of management.
• Supplier management experience required.
• This job may require working extended hours depending on project status. Stress-balance.

Knowledge and Education

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent (Bachelor or Master)
• Proficient English communication skills
• Be familiar with Aluminum material processes and Battery-Box assemblies are priority
• Knowledge:
  • Quality Management System- IAFT16949
  • Audit Tools-VDA 6.3 or similar
  • Core Tools- APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, PPAP

Work Experience

• 3 years or above related experience in Automotive Industry
• Multinational and multicultural environment
• Experienced in Mercedes Benz project quality management activities
• Experienced in BIW & Chassis assembly products and resistance welding, arc welding, glue application, riveting technologies etc.
