Supplier Quality Manager

Role Summary

Location:

China (Shanghai) + travel required (3 to 4 day per week).

Languages required:

Fluent in English & Mandarin (Spanish is a ++)

Key Responsibilities

  • Previous professional experience with Steel & Metal Structures, including associated Manufacturing Process such as Roll Forming, Cutting, Punching, Galvanizing, etc.
  • Expert in metallurgical testing (tensile strength, yield point, salt spray) , welding and fastener.
  • Experience with supplier audits and management.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Supplier Quality Management

- Conduct rigorous audits of Chinese supplier manufacturers

- Develop/implement supplier quality scorecards and improvement plans

- Lead root cause analysis for material defects (8D/FMEA methodology)

 

  • Production Quality Control

- Establish QC protocols for raw materials (galvanized steel, aluminium alloys) and finished products.

- Oversee dimensional accuracy, corrosion resistance, and load capacity testing.

- Assisting engineering to complete industrial validation of products.

 

  • Cross-Border Coordination

- Align China QC processes with EU solar standards (EN 1090, EN ISO 15048…)

- Bridge technical communication between Spanish engineering teams and Chinese suppliers.

- Lead quality incident resolution with ≤48hr response time.

 

  • Continuous Improvement

- Reduce PPM defect rate through statistical process control.

- Drive cost-saving initiatives via quality optimization.

- Stay updated on sola tracker industry trends (bifacial compatibility, floating systems).

Knowledge and Education

  • Engineering Degree + Relevant Quality / Manufacturing Experience.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years QA/QC experience in steel fabrication/solar/renewables.
