Role Summary

Logistics related customer interface, planning - Internal and Supplier, internal storage and conveyance, Despatch, Logistics related customer and

Business systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop annual budget, promote cost reduction and waste elimination actions along with adherence to budget within department
  • To ensure adherence to customer related systems and audits, apply updates to relevant areas of change and development
  • To understand and drive the Corporate quality philosophy and support its application within Gestamp, our suppliers and for the customers
  • Ensure delivery standards / expectations are understood for each customer (internal and external) and effectively communicated throughout Gestamp
  • Ensure an efficient and high standard of customer service through, storage, order picking / packing, maintenance and security of storage, conveyancing and related equipment.
  • To work with Industrial / Continuous Improvement Engineering to support productivity improvements and management activities.
  • To maintain a framework of improvement activity to support the implementation of cost reduction ideas and elimination of non-value added production activities.
  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times and transport costs
  • Business, SAP and Customer systems compliance and maintenance relevant to area of control.
  • Proactively ensure all activities are in compliance with company HSE standards at all times.
  • Proactively lead the development of efficient HSE systems with your area.
  • Manage Team performance via regular performance reviews, coaching, disciplinary and grievance, support develop training plans and ensure they are resourced.
  • Achieve annual department personal goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to your own self development to ensure your knowledge is at an appropriate level

Key Qualifications

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Prior experience of working in logistics / supply chain / transportation function within the automotive or manufacturing environment with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and procedures
  • Leading the expediting of materials and planning the team to ensure the right material arrives at the right time efficiently and safely.
  • Lead by example in demonstrating the company values; integrity, respect, improvement, supporting others and encouragement. A passion and ability to develop their department and team to maximise performance, engagement and potential.

Knowledge and Education

  • Experience within a MP&L Supervisory environment, encompassing customer / supplier communications relevant to planning, material handling and delivery
  • Business and customer systems experience.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of MRP systems (preferably SAP)
  • Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems - business SAP, customer, etc.
  • Ability to analyse and manipulate technical and complex data and provide meaningful information

  • Must be able to work onsite from our Wolverhampton facility
