Role Summary

Leading a team of Stores Team Members, Material Handlers and Despatch Team Members

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-work briefings covering safety, KPI target adherence and general plant communication then assignment of duties for the shift. 
  • Ensuring delivery targets are in line with planning and customer requirements
  • Constant evaluation of delivery target adherence and initiating 'catch back' scenarios
  • As part of a layered audit system carry out adherence to standardised work assessments.
  • Responsible for the completion of Level 1 (clean and check) and 2 TPM (tighten and adjust) checks on all applicable plant and equipment.
  • Responsible for adherence to the 5S system developed for the production area/plant/equipment
  • Communicate effectively with support department's to protect their area from variation through potential problem prediction and first level escalation.
  • Training and competence assessment of all team members to 'U' level on all equipment and processes to ensure full logistics utilisation flexibility.
  • Business, SAP and Customer systems compliance and maintenance relevant to area of control.
  • To monitor, support and co-ordinate physical stock checks, compare and support system accuracy.
  • Development of team with regards to Standardised Work, achieving delivery performance and the zero pass of defective parts to the next process. 
  • First level escalation of problems affecting or potentially affecting their area of responsibility
  • Active participation in Continuous Improvement/ problem solving activities
  • To support and maintain pull process - either via system or control via Kanban

Key Qualifications

  • Experienced logistics team member who has exhibited rigour in their approach to quality and systems.  Has a been proactive and participated regularly in problem solving exercises. Able to demonstrate a professional approach to receiving and delivering training.
  • Able to lead by example in adherence to pre-defined routines with consistency and discipline.
  • A good interdepartmental communicator that can solve issues systematically and objectively.
  • A passion and ability to develop their team to maximise team performance, engagement and potential.

Knowledge and Education

  • Experience within a Logistics environment.
  • People management and development.
  • Business process experience within a similar environment. Proven track record within automotive sector (possibly 1st tier).
  • ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management in Team Leading)

  • Must be able to work onsite from our Wolverhampton facility
