Role Summary

To provide breakdown support to stamping areas, carry out improvements and preventative maintenance on dies at our GWM site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Renovation and routine maintenance of die sets.
  • Carry out fault finding activities and undertake timely repair of die equipment.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities on die equipment.
  • Adherence to departmental systems (Pm, recording downtime).
  • Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times.
  • Timely response to die equipment stoppages.
  • Improvements to die equipment (Kaisan).
  • Key performance indicators such as equipment OEE and Die downtime.

Key Qualifications

  • Completed a recognised Toolmaking or Engineering apprenticeship or Time served.
  • Engineering HNC.

 

Knowledge and Education

  • Experience with all aspects of Toolroom activities.
  • Have completed a City & Guilds L3 Engineering Technical  Qualification.
  • Proven problem solving skills using structured approach.
  • Experience with various die types progression transfer etc.
  • Knowledge of metal forming  process.
  • Knowledge of die manufacture principal's.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude including bench fitting, machining, welding and fabrication.
  • Experience within an automotive maintenance environment and knowledge of maintenance systems desirable.

  • Must be able to work onsite from our Wolverhampton facility
