EHS Manager
Role Summary
Responsible for managing and ensuring the day to day compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to OSHA and GHSI. This includes all items safety and environmental related. Includes the administration and continual improvement to the health, safety and environmental process.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the GHSI. Drive system requirements and implement solutions to achieve global expectations.
• Monitors facility and processes for adherence to OSHA guidelines.
• Identifies and evaluates environmental and safety hazards, recommends corrective action as necessary.
• Performs job analysis and measures and evaluates effectiveness of safety policies, makes needed modifications.
• Leads the organization of the emergency response team (ERT) safety committee.
• Supervises worker’s compensation recordkeeping and responds to employee accidents with treatment, follow up, and internal reporting.
• Initiates action to prevent accidents both machinery and behavior.
• Initiates, performs, and oversees all aspects of safety and environmental training and documentation.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
• Basic engineering and automation
• Coaching and influencing a safety culture among managers
Education & Experience
• BS degree in occupational health and safety, engineering or related field or combination of job related work experience and education/certifications.
• 5-7 years’ experience in safety in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
• OSHA 30 Hour General Industry
• Audit safety programs and Lean safety metrics preferred.
• Supervision experience of EHS staff preferred.

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
• Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
