Health and Safety Manager - West Virginia

Job Summary
Responsible for setting the management of Environmental, Health & Safety in the plant to ensure compliance to OSHA, EPA, and Gestamp corporate standards.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities
1.    Manage the corporate and plant safety and environmental programs in safety at work, industrial hygiene and ergonomics.
2.    Assess the management team, establish safety procedures for critical processes (LOTO, overload cranes, fork trucks) and all other manufacturing process including in our GHSS (Gestamp Health and Safety System).
3.    Coordinate and track progress of government regulations compliance.
4.    Responsible to coordinate the employee safety training.
5.    Assess the management team in change agent for improving safety culture at the plants.
6.    Assess in write/keep up-to-date manuals, procedures and policies for safety functions for all locations.
7.    Direct plant safety teams and multi-plant safety council.
8.    Work with manufacturing on engineering and plant layout changes.
9.    Knowledge of OSHA, EEO, and ADA law and regulation.
10.    Excellent people and project management skills.
11.    Self-starter, excellent ability in initiate, analyze and resolve.
12.    Proficient in writing and speaking skills.
13.    Performs other assigned duties as necessary.

 

Education and Experience: 
1.    University degree in related field preferred or accomplished training in HSE/OSHA.
2.    Experience working in a manufacturing facility.
3.    Five to ten year’s safety experience.
