Maintenance Supervisor, Chattanooga, TN - Chassis Plant III

Role Summary:

The maintenance supervisor is a critical part of the maintenance team, leading the daily activities of up to 20 direct reports at any given time and continuously pursuing improvements in all aspects of manufacturing and teamwork within the facility.

Key Responsibility:

  • Primary technical leader for the maintenance team while on shift, providing direction to maintenance team members.
  • Direct point of contact for operations management while on shift, responsible to follow escalation procedures.
  • Drive accountability amongst maintenance team, assigning work and following up to ensure proper completion.
  • Coach and develop team members to improve overall skillset of entire team.
  • Monitor KPI's and continuously drive improvement in all areas.

Key Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Provide hands-on technical support to maintenance team as necessary.
  • Monitor line cycle time and identify/correct any issues causing "over-cycle." Look for areas to improve.
  • Contribute to development and improvement of maintenance PM practices. 
  • Contact vendors as needed to address systematic issues with their equipment.
  • Support a healthy team environment focused on continuously improving the plant, culture, and systems.

Knowledge and Education

  • HS diploma/GED + advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics., robotics, and PLCs.
  • Prefer USDOL Journeyman's certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training.
  • FANUC robotics - MIG/MAG processes, material handling, coating applications - programming, integrating, troubleshooting.
  • HAAS CNC's - maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Controls knowledge - Allen Bradley (control logix), Siemens (TIA Portal)

Work Experience:

  • 5 years' previous employment in a manufacturing environment - automotive preferred.
  • A minimum of three to 5 years previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be able to drive forklift and maintain certification.
  • Rigging experience, understanding loads, lift points, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of GMAW welding processes

Additional Information:

  • 12-hour rotating shift - Nights 6pm - 6:30am
  • $7,500 signing bonus paid out over one year period - $1,500 at 30 days, $2,500 at 6 months and $3,500 at 1 year.
  • $800 annual tool allowance.
