JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Team Leader position is responsible for assigning, executing and supervising the proper execution of corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance programs carried out in the systems, machinery and equipment of the processes under its responsibility during its shift.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIIBILITIES

  • Send end of shift report and assure proper communication between shifts and departments.
  • Escalate major downtime to Department Managers.
  • Contribute to achieve production targets.
  • Consider production requirements, priorities, budget, etc. when scheduling maintenance.
  • Coach and support its personnel.
  • Identifying training needs for the department.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the area and the organization.
  • Make sure regular preventive maintenance on machines and equipment is being done.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Weekend scheduling and overtime control.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in automotive industry with emphasis on stamping related equipment.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in some form of maintenance of production machinery.
  • Computer proficiency – email, Word, Excel, Power Point SAP and Captor required.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and manuals.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to remain in standing position 80% of the time.
  • Occasional extended periods of bending and/or kneeling.
  • Frequently use hands to handle, manipulate or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Frequently reaches with hands and arms.
  • Frequently lifts and/or moves parts up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent climbing up ladders using lift equipment, and performing work at extensive heights.
  • Exposed to temperature and humidity variations through the seasons of the year.
  • Work performed in an environment where noise levels exceed 85 decibels and hearing protection is required.
  • Able to listen to and communicate information clearly and concisely.
