Purchasing Intern

JOB SUMMARY

  1. Assist the Purchasing Manger to register the Suppliers in the Gestamps' Supplier Portal (Ariba).
  2. Being the point of contact for registration process with GWV Suppliers. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supplier registration, central authorization and activation within different platforms and controls.
  2. Available to meet with Suppliers to review the status of the Registration Process.
  3. Implement  Improvement Projects in the daily operation of Purchasing and CRIB Tool Departments.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Enrolled in At least a 2 year Associates Degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or Logistics
  2. At least 2 years job related experience in an Automotive manufacturing environment/industry or 4 yrs min in non-automotive manufacturing environment/industry.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Strong people skills with a willingness to empower the team
  2. Effectively able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  3. Working knowledge of MS Office
  4. Experience or knowledge with ERP Systems

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
  2. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
  3. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  4. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  5. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
  6. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
  7. This job requires travel that, on rare occasions, can be for extended periods
  8. May be required to work extended hours on occasion
  9. Handle the stress of a fast-paced environment
  10. Complex problem solving
