Role Summary
Supports and implements manufacturing quality systems for an assigned customer, supplier, or product line.
Key Responsibilities
- Sets and monitors SPC data to ensure delivery of consistent quality from suppliers or to customers.
- Sets standards for determining non-conforming materials and scrap review.
- Follows-up and responds to customer concerns with regards to quality.
- Plans and coordinates PPAP documentation and submissions.
- Assists with PFMEAs and APQP activities.
- Performs 8D’s and manages control plans as needed.
- Develops gauging and controls calibration schedules of the measurement instrument.
- Assists in the development of standardized work processes and process improvements.
- Assists in the implementation of ISO and TS initiatives.
- Participation in the Layered Process Audit schedule.
- Participation in the Internal ISO/TS 16949 Audit schedule (applies only to certified ISO/TS 16949 internal auditors).
- Participation and cooperation in answering questions and providing information for internal and external audits regarding or related to ISO 9001/IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and customer standards.
- Other activities as related to the scope of the position.
Knowledge and Education
- B.S. Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 2 years quality experience in a stamping/robotic assembly environment;
- OR, A.S. Engineering Technology plus 4 years experience in a stamping/robotic assembly environment;
- OR, 7+ years experience and training in a similar role and environment.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and SPC;
- Knowledge of quality tools/techniques (APQP, PPAP, ISO/IATF Problem Solving);
- Ability to work in a team-based lean manufacturing environment.
- Capable of operating/performing B2B BEON, LEON, KPM, and VDA 6.3 with appropriate training.
