Role Summary
Assists with hot forming production tooling design to tool buy-off at tool shop. Ensures all milestones and program responsibilities are met, enabling Gestamp NA to meet or exceed customer requirements for quality timeliness and cost effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensures all hot forming die tooling is built to Gestamp NA standards in a timely manner, while meeting or exceeding our customer quality expectations.
2. Gathers / analyzes information to support weekly updates of tool progress from production tool shop for each program.
3. Manage and resolve program assignments and open issues in timely manner, utilizing program open issue matrix.
4. Ensures all proper information, check fixtures, and tryout material delivery and all other requirements are met.
5. Manages all engineering changes through tool shops.
6. Ensures early part requirements from tool shops are met.
Knowledge and Education
- Technical degree preferred, or journeyman card with technical associate degree and 5 years automotive experience in hot forming.
Work Experience
- Five years automotive industry experience, preferably in stamping or assembly industry.
- Five years’ experience or understanding of hot forming tool design and process and / or die and equipment construction.
