Long Description

Role Summary

Responsible for directing/mentoring the quality team consisting of Quality Engineers, Layout Techs, Quality Techs, Test Techs, Plant Launch Leader, and Environmental Supplied Products Coordinator.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the quality function on technical support, in conjunction with other internal support groups regarding issues affecting manufacturing
  • Initiates quality control sampling system, procedures, APQP, PPAP and IMDS activities
  • Manage, audit and continuously improve IATF 16949 systems and procedures
  • Direct Customer and Supplier liaisons for plant quality activities and concerns including scheduled visits
  • Establish and maintain all quality control documents, samples, customer contact, supplier development, production start-up, product launch, and correction of production variances and warrant analysis

 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Understand and support customer specific requirements
  • CCC Implementation, Maintenance and Change Control
    • Products within compulsory product certification catalogue but not certified
    • Products subject to confirmation by certification authority for change after approval but not confirmed
    • Products exceeding validity of certification
    • Products that are listed on certificate but have been suspended, cancelled or nullified
    • Nonconforming products
  • IATF 16949 experience required
  • Development and implementation of quality systems and standards (FMEA's, PPAP, control plans, DVP&R's, APQP)

 

Knowledge and Education

  • Bachelors degree or 2 to 1 year experience to education
  • 7+ yrs exp. in Automotive Manufacturing environment
  • 5+ yrs in a management or supervisor position
  • Electrical or mechanical product experience. Electro-mechanical exp a big plus
  • Lean Manufacturing
