Job Summary

Assembly Toolmaker responsible for executing the repair, machining, adjusting and building of jigs / fixtures used in the support of Assembly operations in a Tier 1 automotive production facility. Provide machinist support for Engineering changes and projects as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Repair assembly tooling and equipment as needed using standard NAAMS tooling components.
  2. Build jigs / fixtures as needed to support assembly tooling improvement projects.
  3. Provide machinist support for in-house execution of Engineering changes.
  4. Execute jig adjustments in efforts to improve dimensional quality.
  5. Implement tooling projects to improve cycle time and overall equipment efficiency as needed.
  6. Machine / build spare parts and equipment as needed to support assembly and press operations.

Education and Experience

  1. AS degree - Machine Tool major preferred
  2. Minimum 5 years Machinist Experience
  3. Experience working in automotive manufacturing preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to operate machine shop tools and equipment including lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, cylindrical grinder
  2. Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings.
  3. Ability to weld steel, aluminum using MIG, TIG
  4. Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  5. Ability to work in a team environment
