Job Summary

Assembly Controls Technician will provide support, leadership and direction to the Maintenance Technicians regarding controls systems. The Assembly Controls Technician will support and carry out the assignments and responsibilities assigned to them by the Engineering Manager or his/her delegates.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Plan and implement improvements within Assembly related to the specific controls systems.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams supporting activities related to controls implementation.
  • Provide technical support for controls systems during the introduction of new assembly equipment.
  • Ensure proper controls specific documentation delivery from the Original Equipment Manufacturer and support buyoff activity of new assembly equipment as needed.
  • Provide technical support to Assembly Maintenance department for resolving controls related issues.
  • Support the Assembly Department Technical Training and Development program by conducting training classes, providing technical documentation, etc...
  • Ensure properly documented equipment breakdown / activity reports.
  • Work with area maintenance planner and Controls Engineer to prioritize tasks to be done during non-production hours.
  • Perform Duties of an Assembly Maintenance Technician as needed (occasion off shift work may be required)
  • Ensure Root Cause Analysis of downtime in properly investigated, addressed and communicated.

 

Education and Experience

  • AS: Electronics Technology or Mechatronics plus 5 years of automated manufacturing technical experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

 

  • High skill set with PC and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of IO, transfer of information between Robot and PLC, and PLC functionality.
  • Good understanding of robot program flow and basic programming theories.
  • Practical experience and good understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring.
  • PLC,(Siemens, Allen Bradley) Experience with Factrory Talk, Endusoft, Guardlogix, AB Servo Drive systems a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team based lean manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in English language (both oral and written)
