JOB SUMMARY

Supports manufacturing operations in an automotive stamping environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Including the Following. Other duties may be assigned.
Implement process improvements concerning electrical control systems using all available current controls technologies.
Maintain control systems to ensure manufacturing activities are within specifications and interpret and apply specifications for manufacturability.
Support maintenance activities in PM scheduling as well as training and developing maintenance technicians from a controls perspective. 4)    Collects, tracks, and advises on downtime issues and implements short and long-term solutions to minimize downtime.
Manage and execute in-house projects for implementing new engineering changes that modify assembly processes and create/revise electrical drawings in AutoCAD 2000 format.
Develop and implement HMI / MMI interfaces for existing manufacturing systems.
Liaise with vendors regarding software/hardware updates and troubleshooting systems.
Other related activities related to the scope of the position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 3 years experience in a controls/robotic environment.

AS: Electronics Technology plus 5 years of controls experience in a controls/robotics environment.     
-or-
7+ years’ experience and training in a similar role and environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. High skill set of PC and communication skills
2. Strong proficiency with PLC (Siemens, Beckhoff, A-B Control Logix, RS View & Panel View),  Siemens Step 7, Safety PLC’s (Pilz & Guard logix), Indramat Servo Drive systems, PanelBuilder, PPC & TWINCAT. 
3. Proficient in industrial control 4.    Proficient in AutoCAD electrical.
5. Proficient in creating and following project management timelines.
6. Ability to work in a team-based lean manufacturing environment.
7. Ability to work off shifts as required
8. Ability to manage and document electrical & controls changes
9. Ability to update and manage electrical prints.
