2nd Shift Materials Team Leader

JOB SUMMARY
Dynamic position for an individual, as a working leader, who will be responsible for all aspects of shipping process including the Key responsibility of coordinating  scheduled on-time shipments to the Customer.  The Team Leader will be involved in decision making activities during the day-to-day operations of shipping finished assemblies to the Customer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.    Ensure the safety of all associates reporting to this position.
2.    Utilizing and maintaining the Ship Tracking Report to coordinate and prioritize accurate part & quantity shipments to the Customer.
3.    Must be able to have the flexibility to work overtime on a daily basis and weekends as required and with short notice.
4.    Responsible for all shipping documentation required related to all shipments utilizing MAPICS & FUTURE 3 to the Customer including, printing labels, transferring material locations in the system, Creating Shippers, timely ASN’s to the customer. (See Specific Work Instructions for task details).
5.    Responsible for adhering the Shipping Labels and scanning to Dock Staging Locations.
6.    Responsible for maintaining and coordinating part number ZGS changes. (See Specific Work Instructions for task details). 
7.    Ensure the timely delivery of Finished Assemblies to Mercedes-Benz, Vance AL
8.    Ensure the accuracy of shipments delivered to the customer is 100%
9.    Quick response to customer calls along with reaction plans quickly implemented.
10.    Leader of Standardized Work Practices Documentation and Execution of the Shipping Process ---- being consistent and disciplined by maintaining the standards as directed by the Material Group Leader.  
11.     Assists other Team Members in the continuous improvement of the shipping operations.
12.    Is required to be able to proficiently perform and/or know all job related functions of the operation.
13.    Must be a team player helping to accentuate a positive & productive environment within the department and with all other departments.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Participate in problem solving and resolution to issues within the department.
  2. Responsible to assist the Group Leader with the assessment & development of Team Improvement Goals.
  3. Help assist with training team members in the application of defined Standard Processes & Procedures.
  4. Required to complete daily, weekly and monthly routine reports as directed by the Materials Group Leader.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Required to have experience with PC based systems Microsoft applications including Excel and Word.
  2. Must have excellent people and oral & written communication skills.
  3. Must have excellent analytical and math skills.
  4. Prior Inventory and/or Production Control experience.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
  2. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
