JOB SUMMARY


Maintenance Press Technician conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1.  Follow Standardized Work Instructions.
2.  Mechanical maintenance of large stamping presses and feed line equipment.
3.  Plumbing basic repair, replace drains, run pipe threader.
4.  Maintenance of air compressors and air driers.
5.  Conveyor systems air, electric and vibro units.
6.  Hydraulic pumps, trash pumps, oil pumps.
7.  Welding arc, MIG/TIG and spot basic knowledge.
8.  Manlifts, ladders, roof work, and outside work.
9.  Must follow all OSHA and plant safety rules, including lock-out tag-out, etc.
10.  Rebuilding of cylinders and pumps of all kinds.
11.  Fabricating of scrap trays, chutes, and work benches.
12.  Supports the teams in operational improvement.
13.  Develops Initial Standard Work Practices with the teams.
14.  Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of production equipment during machine service.
15.  Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
16.  Performs mechanical skills, including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
17.  Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
18.  Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


1.  HS diploma/GED + advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs.
2.  Prefer USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training.
3.  5 years of previous employment in a manufacturing environment – automotive preferred.
