Production Team Leader -McCalla, AL

Position Summary:

Working Leader who will be responsible for managing associates involved in all aspects of the Press Area. Team Leader will be involved in decision making activities during day-to-day press operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Able to operate Transfer / Blanking Press or Progressive Press

2. Implements daily production schedule of the press shop to meet daily manufacturing goals.

3. Schedules production associate assignments and coordinates daily assignment rotations.

4. Trains associates on operational processes and ensures competency with work procedures.

5. Monitors and reports daily attendance of production associates.

6. Performs daily safety inspections prior to work start-up.

7. Records and reports daily production performance statistics.

8. Recommends improvements to work procedures to improve production efficiencies.

9. Implements continuous improvement activities.

10. Assists other Team Members in Continually improving the Operation

11. Is Required to be able to Proficiently Perform all Job Related Functions of the Operation

12. Initially Leads Problem Solving Efforts

13. Responsible for Assessment & Development of Team Improvement Goals

14. Manage manpower issues daily and plan for shortages, vacation, etc.

15. Visual Reporting of Operational Measures

16. Supports the Continual Pursuit of Waste Elimination

17. Other projects and activities as assigned by the Group Leader

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Has experience with PC based systems Microsoft applications

2. Strong knowledge of SPC and data tracking; good math skills

3. Effective in leading and working with others in a production setting

4. Must have excellent people and communication (oral and written) Skills

5. Solid Computer skills

6. Must Handle Physical Demands of Shipping Operations

7. Must have good attendance record

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Having been trained in Lean Manufacturing Principals is a plus

2. Associate Degree from an accredited institution a plus

3. Must have at least 1-3 years experience in a production/shipping environment

4. Must have the Ability to Work in a Team Based Environment

5. Any Technical Skills are a plus

6. Any previous Leadership skills are a plus
