Long Description

Role Summary 

The MRO Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to maintenance parts, tools, and consumables to ensure uninterrupted plant operations. This role involves supervising MRO staff, managing inventory, coordinating procurement, and enforcing safety and quality standards. The position requires strong organizational skills, leadership, and the ability to maintain accurate records while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position will support all three Chattanooga facilities, and be primarily located at Plant I. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and Support Operations: Oversee MRO Crib Attendants and manage quarterly physical inventory; participate in audits (Layered Process, ISO 9001/IATF 16949) and respond to internal/external audit inquiries.

  • Inventory and Purchasing Management: Maintain optimal MRO stock levels, monitor usage trends, prevent stockouts/overstock via SAP, and expedite critical supplies when needed.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with buyers, department heads, and supervisors to meet purchasing and spare part needs, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.

  • Supplier and Cost Optimization: Review supplier agreements for cost-effectiveness, ensure timely deliveries, and track/report savings through PRM and other review processes.

  • System and Policy Compliance: Manage SAP systems for MRO purchasing, ensure compliance with Ariba policies, and support buyer strategies and controls related to MRO tool crib operations.

Knowledge and Education 

  • A minimum of three years experience in a professional MRO or similar environment
  • College degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, inventory control, or another related field.
  • Knowledge of SAP Materials Management (MM) and Procurement to Pay modules

Key Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, MS Office, Windows, SAP or other inventory control systems
