Maintenance Superintendent - Chassis
Role Summary:
Manage all aspects of maintenance on production equipment and facilities. Develop the maintenance team and implement maintenance strategies and plans to ensure plant targets related to safety, output, productivity, cost and quality are met. Ensure plant and equipment availability and drive uptime improvement through effective preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance programs supported by a root cause problem solving culture. Ensure that proper staffing, skills, training, tools, and maintenance plans are in place to maximize equipment availability in the most cost-efficient manner.
Key Responsitility:
- Responsible for leadership, supervision, and development of all members of the maintenance team.
- Responsible to ensure safe work practices are being always utilized by the members of the maintenance department, play an active role in creating a safety-oriented work culture, and lead by example.
- Responsible for maximizing machine uptime on all production equipment. Work closely with production management to schedule maintenance activities based on equipment, manpower, and spare parts availability.
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement actions and culture in the maintenance department and establish clear KPI’s and targets to track and manage progress.
- Ensure effective work order management for preventative and corrective work orders with review and tracking to ensure items are closed on time and follow up items are managed to completion.
Key Qualifications / Requirements:
- Ensure effective work order management for preventative and corrective work orders with review and tracking to ensure items are closed on time and follow up items are managed to completion.
- Manage the maintenance systems tools and culture in alignment with requirements of the Gestamp Production System (GPS)
- Drive root cause problem solving within the maintenance department for equipment and performance issues and support for problem solving in other departments or areas as part of cross functional shop floor teams.
- Ensure all technical materials and training is available as required to support the maintenance technicians in their execution of day to day and specialized activities.
- Develop and manage maintenance improvement projects and budgets and support plant and new program projects as needed.
Knowledge and Education:
- Four-year college degree in Engineering or Equivalent education & experience combination.
- Sheet metal, robotic welding, material handling experience.
- Strong Leadership skills.
- Experience with CMMS-SAP programs
- Critical KPI driven analysis
Work Experience:
- 8-10 years industrial maintenance experience in automotive industry
- Minimum of 3-5 years previous maintenance management experience in a manufacturing setting.
- 5-7 years industrial maintenance experience in automotive industry
- Robotic welding, material handling, laser cutting and shot blasting experience.
- Experience with CMMS programs.
