Automation Maintenance Technician Chattanooga 2

JOB SUMMARY

Oversee PLC, Robotics, and perform required processes in an efficient and in a cost conscious manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs all required maintenance of automation programs and robotics systems.
2. Troubleshoot electrical systems using electrical schematics, programs, and meters
3. Assists the robotics engineer to detect opportunities to reduce line cycle time
4. Develop technical illustrations (isometric) as needed
5. Supports Operational Performance Metrics and meets targets for improvement
6. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by the Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Associates or Bachelors degree in Electronics/Instrumentation or related field involving PLC’s.
2.  5 years minimum of industrial electronics maintenance experience. Focusing on PLC’s (Siemens focused).
3. Minimum 5 years of related experience or specific experience (i.e. manufacturing environment)
4. Involvement in process and procedure with a high level of proficiency;
5. Exposure to specified systems and/or equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Ability to troubleshoot, and maintain Siemens plc’s and related systems strongly preferred
2. ABB robotics strongly preferred
3. Fanuc robotic experience
4. Allen Bradley PLC experience/ Factory Talk
5. Effectively able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
6. Strong people skills with a willingness to empower the team
7. Clear understanding of Lean Principals and Tools.

2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
6. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
7. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
