Short Description

Provides Automation support and troubleshooting during and after initial design, integration, and construction phases of new and current industrial automation process. Maintaining robot accessories, robot arm tooling, automatic tool changers and utility couplers.

Assemble a variety of products or sub-assemblies of small, light to average weight parts following standard procedures.
Refer to drawings, diagrams or sketches as a guide for performing assembly tasks.
Align, fit and adjust parts to meet operating requirements of the unit.
Use hand and/or power tools to complete the task
Participates with engineering to influence initial process design of new automation equipment and to identify/implement process improvements.
Works with engineering to support contractors and vendors during initial process installation
Ensures operation of automation equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on production machines, production equipment and robotic cells
Uses critical thinking and test equipment for troubleshooting. Works with engineering and operators to develop/implement solutions.
Inspects repairs and replaces automation components.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety rules, procedures and regulations.
Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate by the Tooling Manager.
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required
Experience or ability to obtain a Forklift and Crane Certification.
Mechatronics experience a plus.
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to pass a Mechanical Aptitude test.
Use the SAP system to make and complete work orders.
Ability to work on your own to accomplish detailed tasks.
Knowledge and understanding of 5S
Able to troubleshoot, inspect and replace defective components
Mechanical assembly skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Willingness to learn
Basic computer skills
 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Specific vision abilities required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear.
Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Environment in the shop and press shop can be loud and requires handling sharp steel also requires going into press, safety requirements must be followed at all times.
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking, so other will understand.
