Maintenance Team Lead 2nd Shift Assesmbly - Chattanooga, TN / Plant 1
Role Summary
Works with supervisor to help manage and oversee team members to accomplish daily safety, quality and manufacturing goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the development of work instructions, training on processes, and helps supervise daily operations
- Be prepared to step into supervisor’s position in cases of sickness and vacations
- Responsible for assisting with software and documentation, including but not limited to approving Attendance on Demand and SAP.
- Improve department communication through turnover activity and interpersonal relations.
- Inventory tracking and ordering as necessary.
- Increase productivity of department by managing troubleshooting, press call, and PM activities through proper distribution of personnel resources.
- Contribute to the 5S, housekeeping of the entire plant, including, but not limited to, being on call for any oil spills, environmental problems, fluids in oil room, scrap system, and other areas as deemed appropriate.
- Completion of miscellaneous duties and projects, written and verbal, as directed by your supervisor/manager.
- Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.
Knowledge and Education
- HS diploma/GED + advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs.
- Prefer USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training.
- 5 years previous employment in a manufacturing environment – automotive preferred.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be able to drive forklift and maintain certification.
- Must be able to work at heights, working on overhead cranes, repairing ceiling lights, parking lot lights and able to work in tunnels and pits.
- Must have strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
- Electrical 12 volt dc to 600 volt ac basic working knowledge.
- Basic carpenter skills, painting, repair drywall, ceiling work, build offices;
- Problem Solving – Recognize and solve the malfunctioning of the machine and recognize and solve quality problems of formed part.

- Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
