JOB SUMMARY
Gestamp is currently in search of a Plant Controller. This position will have intensive involvement in all facets of Operations such as analyzing financial information, planning capital investments for the plant, preparation of financial reports, preparation of budgets and inventory management. This role serves as a key business partner to the Plant Director. The Plant Controller is expected to be substantially and proactively engaged in advancing the company’s significant growth objectives, not merely reporting out.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for monthly accounting close process.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual profit and loss forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses with actuals.
Maintain a standard cost system for all products. Work with commercial and purchasing departments to maintain margin.
Supervise and review shop floor reporting for direct and indirect labor, material movement, and scrap reporting.
Establish, maintain, and track variances for Capital and Tooling budgets versus actual spending.
Responsible for inventory record accuracy.
Establish and maintain procedures to gather, process, and record information on data processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Coordinate and audit annual physical inventories and identify and investigate discrepancies between perpetual and physical inventories.
Responsible for applying corporate established accounting and auditing procedures for the safeguarding of company assets and ensuring internal controls are followed. All exceptional or irregular activities must be reported to the corporate office.
Perform additional related activities as necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS degree in accounting, finance, or related - MBA preferred.
5 or more years of related experience in cost or financial analysis.
10 years' experience in accounting for a manufacturing plant preferred.
Experience with ERP systems.
Experience with daily/weekly reporting of operations performance, KPI, or similar
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
SAP experience is highly desired
Excellent computer skills required
