Production Supervisor 2nd Shift Hot Stamp - Chattanooga, TN / Plant 1

Role Summary 

Supervise all activities associated with hot stamping operations, in a team based automated assembly/stamping environment.   

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develops work instructions, trains employees on processes, and supervises daily operations
  • Monitors and reports daily production activities with regards to SPC.
  • Identifies, develops, and implements strategies to attain production targets with respect to SQDCM
  • Leads daily production meetings to communicate production goals and provide feedback on overall team performance
  • Evaluates employee areas of improvement and implements strategies relating to employee development
  • Provides overall employee/team development strategies through training, coaching, counseling, and performance measurement
  • Responsible for all safety related issues including first response and reporting per Gestamp corporate and GCH standards.
  • Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements
  • Report any issues to Safety Coordinator.
  • Track daily work hours for all operational departments on shift.
  • Report unusual circumstances or deviations from standards to Human Resources.
  • Meet Quality requirements per department standards and report any issues to Quality Manager. 
  • Participation in the Layered Process Audit schedule.
  • Participation in the Internal ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Audit schedule (applies only to certified ISO 9001/IATF 16949 internal auditors).
  • Participation and cooperation in answering questions and providing information for internal and external audits regarding or related to ISO 9001/IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and customer standards.

 

Knowledge and Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline or extensive supervisory experience in an automotive environment; 
  • 5 – 15 years’ experience in team-oriented manufacturing environment;
  • Strong experience with measurables in regards to SQCDM and SPC.
  • Hot Stamping experience preferred

 

Key Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Strong people and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work a second or third shift assignment. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for training.
