Quality Inspector-3rd shift Chattanooga, TN/ Plant 1

Role Summary

To provide guidance and direction with respect to product quality during the manufacturing of cold and hot metal stampings, laser cut metals, and robotically mig, spot, and projection welded assemblies by direct communication with production, engineering, tooling, maintenance, and quality personnel.

Key Responsibilities

•    Monitor and maintain the quality level of product.
•    Authorized to stop the line when quality defects are found.
•    Use various tools, fixtures, measurement devices to analyze functionality of product.
•    Recognize and disposition of product requiring sort, rework or scrap based on customer specifications.
•    Advise operators, supervision on current and historical part quality and acceptability.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
•    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects,            tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
•    Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
•    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
•    The ability to listen to  and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

Knowledge and Education

•    High School diploma or GED equivalent.
•    Experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment is required.
