Die Setter - Mason MI

JOB SUMMARY
Looking for a 1st or 2nd shift Die Setter. Communicate with tooling and production to prepare dies and set on bolster.  Clean dies in press and after production run.  Transport dies to tooling location to be worked on and open dies up.  Repair grippers.
 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Enter all time for the day into SAP (work order system).  All work performed that day needs to be documented in SAP
•When completing a work orders ensure all the proper checks have been completed
•Finish work orders on time
•Escalate any issues you’re unsure of to your lead or supervisor
•Continuously work on improvements throughout the department to keep cost down as it relates to all areas of the plant
•Be ready to work at start of shift, and take the initiative to receive a pass down from the prior shift.  Stay busy until the shift is over
•Responsible for downtime as it relates to tooling that you’ve worked on
•Work with team leader throughout the day to understand priorities
•Adapt to schedule changes and needs of the plant
•Ensure standard work is followed
•Complete die setter checklist
•Attend daily meetings to discuss work load
•Responsible to work with the leads and supervisor’s for training in different areas
•Work with leads and supervisors on new improvements or new ideas
•Attend learning opportunities to gain professional and technical knowledge
•Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, Lockout/Tagout procedures are adhered to, PPE is worn correctly at all times, and reporting of any near-misses, injuries, or accidents occurs immediately.
•Keep work area clean and orderly to prevent safety hazards.
•Assure adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems.
•Observe and follow company policies and maintain proper standards of conduct at all times.
•All other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•High School Diploma/GED
•Prefer 1-2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing plant
•Prefer experience setting dies
•Prefer experience running cranes and hilo
•Computer proficiency – Word and SAP is a plus
 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
•Demonstrate a sense of urgency when the schedule changes
•Demonstrates respect to others with a positive and supportive attitude
•Communication skills including written, verbal, and listening
•Strong organizational skills, with follow up
•Computer experience(Record work completed in SAP)
•Ability to work overtime as required
•Must be able to work different hours/shifts as manpower requirements or issues deem necessary
•Learn how to work on precision handling equipment for the press lines
•Clean dies inside and outside the press lines
•Operate all cranes, hilo’s, die cart, and any other equipment for working on dies or die setting assets
•Knowledge on setting dies on all assets that tooling is required to set
