Logistics Analyst

The Logistics Analyst provides primary point of contact support for automotive OEM and Tier 1 customers. Responsible for daily communications with customers by phone, email, and web portals. Communicates daily shipping requirements to dock staff and builds orders to customer EDI.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review customer EDI daily to identify changes and project shortages.
  • Build customer orders in SAP and assign BOL to corresponding window times.
  • Monitor all inbound and outbound freight activity.
  • Perform scheduled tasks in customer web portals (daily/weekly/monthly/annually).
  • Identify and correct demand discrepancies in customer forecast.
  • Review daily bulletins from customer portals and provide updates to the plant.
  • Manage internal and external container inventories.
  • Process shipment requests internally and set up trucking as needed by the plant.
  • Maintain customer web portals and provide support to achieve 100% on time delivery.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
     

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with automotive shipping schedules, dedicated lanes, and expedites.
  • Knowledgeable about automotive customer service. Knowledge of OEM web portals a plus.
     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of ERP systems. SAP experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Ford/Chrysler/GM web portals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Familiarity with general material planning concepts.
