JOB SUMMARY
The RLC Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing basic maintenance duties related to the install, troubleshoot and repair of assets. The tech will maintain production equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. All team members will support the Maintenance departments business goals and objectives.
 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Learns to set up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
•Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
•Support assembly maintenance activities in PM scheduling.
•Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
•Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of production equipment during scheduled downtime.
•Diagnose, troubleshoot problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
•Diagnose robotics systems with emphasis on electrical and programming.
•Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
•Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
•While performing PM tasks observe equipment and check for any potential problem items not listed on task sheets.
•Accountable for preparing and setting up machinery for scheduled production runs.
•Participates in on-going Learning/training for current and new equipment.
•Use of voltage meters, reading electrical schematics and measuring tools.
•Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, Lockout/Tagout procedures are adhered to, PPE is worn correctly at all times, and reporting of any near-misses, injuries, or accidents occurs immediately.
•Keep work area clean and orderly to prevent safety hazards.
•Assure adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems.
•Observe and follow company policies and maintain proper standards of conduct at all times.
 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•High School Diploma/GED or equivalent Required.
•Basic technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, welding, hydraulics required.
•At least 3 years of manufacturing experience in automotive industry with emphasis on stamping/assembly related equipment required.
•2 or more years’ experience in some form of maintenance of production machinery required.
•Associate degree in Mechatronic or related field study preferred.
 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
•Computer proficiency – email, Word, Excel SAP required.
•Thorough knowledge on the use of multi meters, reading electrical schematics and measuring tools.
•Working knowledge in electrical, dc and ac voltage.
•Thorough knowledge in troubleshooting and developing solutions to complex technical issues.
•Ability to read and interpret equipment electrical and hydraulic schematics, manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
•Basic welding including arc, MIG, TIG, and spot.
•Fundamental capacity to interpret mechanical, electric and pneumatic systems.
•Working knowledge of Captor, SAP or related ERP system.
