JOB SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is accountable for providing direct supervision of production team members to meet production targets. Directs and supervises daily production activities including manpower allocation and scheduling of production in assigned areas. Assists the Operations Manager in meeting all performance targets related to Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost on a continuous basis.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Directly supervise employees in the Assembly department.
•Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
•Responsible for Interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
•Responsible to ensure team members wear required PPE and is aware of all safety key points related to their work area. Ensures proper lockout/tag out procedures are followed.
•Monitor on a daily basis the work environment for safe working conditions and safe behaviors by others. Takes action as necessary to maintain health and safety of others.
•Ensures safe and efficient operation of equipment by calling for repairs.
•Accountable for meeting and reporting all production KPIs pertaining to their working area.
•Accountable for data entry into and accuracy of production reporting systems (CAPTOR, SAP, log books, etc.)
•Accountable for problem solving activities (8Ds, 5 WHYs, etc.).
•Collects and reports production data; monitoring progress, implementing rotation plans, resolving problems, and reporting production results on shift summaries.
•Observes and reinforces processes for the containment and control of non-conforming products.
•Conducts assigned LPAs and other audits as assigned.
•Responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date timekeeping and scheduling data; managing manpower.
•Attend learning opportunities for professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops/training sessions as offered and available.
•Interprets and update graphical trend charts.
•Development of effective staffing and resource deployment plans to meet production needs. This includes daily personnel deployment in zones as well as training and skills development plans (cross training plans). Such plans should take a long-term perspective to accommodate the personal development needs for capable individuals, absenteeism/vacations, anticipated staff transitions (e.g. retirements, transfers), and capability to flex resources for plant load and mix variations.
•Monitors the production environment and identification of abnormal and out-of-standard conditions to be followed by prompt implementation of countermeasures (both temporary and permanent).
•Take preventative actions that maintain worker safety, product quality, overall equipment effectiveness, productivity, and cost targets.
•Assure adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems.
•Observe and follow company policies and maintain proper standards of conduct at all times.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•At least 5 years’ experience working in assembly required.
•At least 3 years’ experience leading a team within a manufacturing environment required.
