*Level III or Level IV Tooling Electrical Technician 2nd Shift - 2pm to 10:15pm
JOB SUMMARY
Maintain and repair hot stamping dies, with a focus on electrical aspects, to ensure operational effectiveness. These functions shall be performed only when equipment has been de-energized.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety, and PPE requirements.
2.Understand and comply with all ISO and environmental requirements.
3.Support the company and department in operational improvements.
4.Electrical troubleshooting, upkeep and preventative maintenance on hot stamping dies/cables/presses exclusive of the electrical cabinet.
5.Recognize and solve die/machine electrical malfunction in a timely manner.
6.Provide emergency/unscheduled electrical repairs of dies/cables/equipment.
7.Read and understand equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance service.
8.Troubleshoot upkeep, preventive maintenance, dimensional capability, developing and continuous improvement of various tools, dies, jigs and fixtures for cold/hot stamping and robotic welding.
9.Utilize the following equipment to complete necessary building/repair of fixtures:
a. Hand and precision tools
b. Mills
c. Grinders
d. Welders
10.Assist Tool and Die Technicians with preventative maintenance and repair of dies including grinding, polishing, and basic machining.
11.Continual involvement with quality, cost savings and tool, die and mechanical improvements.
12.Read and check meters and continuity to determine if sensors and wires are GO/NG.
13.Replace any broken wires and electrical items using drilling and lathes as necessary.
14.Daily 5S and work area organization.
15.Computerized work order completion via CAPTOR/SAP.
16.Develop work instructions as needed with TS16949 specifications.
17.Support Team functions by:
a. Continuing improvements
b. Cross-training with others
c. Problem solving
d. Support operational metrics and meets operational needs and goals
18.Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1.Electrical/Electronic certification with 3 years of work related experience OR 2 year Electrical / Electronic degree
2.Journeymen or comparable experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITES
1.Follow Standardized Work Instructions
2.Electrical/Electronic skills and experience
3.Familiarity with a variety of Electrical monitoring devices such as Ohm readers, light boards, etc.
4.Machining skills: drilling, milling, lathes, hand and machine grinders, saws, etc.
