Process Engineer – Divisional

Are you passionate about designing world-class manufacturing processes and bringing innovative automotive programs to life? Gestamp is looking for a highly motivated Process Engineer to lead process development, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives within our Assembly Engineering team. This is a high-impact role where you'll collaborate with global teams, suppliers, plants, and customers to develop cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.
What You'll Do
Serve as the regional subject matter expert in key automotive assembly and manufacturing processes.
Evaluate new product designs for manufacturing feasibility and process requirements.
Develop manufacturing processes for Body-in-White, Chassis, Battery Tray, and related automotive assemblies.
Create line layouts, process flows, time studies, and supporting technical documentation.
Partner with estimating teams to develop accurate process cost estimates.
Lead cross-functional project reviews with plant, program, corporate, supplier, and customer teams.
Prepare supplier RFQs and lead technical reviews throughout quoting and project execution phases.
Present process concepts, technical solutions, and project updates to customers, leadership, and internal stakeholders.
Travel to supplier and plant locations for design reviews, equipment buyoffs, technology evaluations, and project support.
Support Industry 4.0 implementation and digital manufacturing initiatives.
Collaborate with safety teams to perform risk assessments and ensure equipment compliance.
Manage and maintain engineering documentation throughout project lifecycles.
Drive engineering change implementation and project execution schedules.
Support plant launches through standard work development and hands-on training.
Help strengthen Gestamp engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.
Perform additional duties as needed to support Assembly Engineering objectives.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of engineering or project management experience in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
Experience developing assembly line layouts and manufacturing processes.
Proven success leading process improvements and driving projects to completion.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; advanced education or specialized training is a plus.
Strong knowledge of automotive assembly technologies, equipment, and manufacturing methods.
Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and related engineering tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to accurately estimate costs, timelines, and resource requirements.
A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and deliver innovative solutions.
Ability to travel extensively when needed
