JOB SUMMARY
The Assembly 1 Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the daily management and efficient operations of the Press department on his or her assigned shift. The Maintenance Manager will ensure that Assembly 1 lines meet production, safety, and quality goals according to Gestamp Automotive standards. This position will support production and maintenance to minimize downtime and seek continuous improvement activities to improve the operations of the Assembly 1 Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for ensuring safe work practices are being utilized at all times by the members of the maintenance department.
- Responsible for maximizing machine uptime on all production equipment.
- Work closely with production management to schedule maintenance activities based on equipment availability, manpower, and spare parts.
- Review all completed work orders and ensure items requiring follow-up are acted upon appropriately, and assist in tracking these actions required to completion.
- Use a data-driven approach to continuous improvement.
- Assist in locating and purchasing materials required to complete maintenance activities.
- Ensure that an appropriate inventory of spare parts is maintained.
- Implement a proactive approach to maintenance, including predictive maintenance activities such as infrared, vibration, and oil analysis.
- Ensure all technical materials and training is available as required to support the maintenance technicians.
- Assist with 8D and problem resolution for quality issues related to equipment performance.
- Follow all state, federal, OSHA and Gestamp health, safety, environmental laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar is preferred.
- 8 - 10 years of industrial maintenance experience in the automotive industry
- Hot stamping, sheet metal, robotic welding, material handling, laser cutting and shot blasting experience.
- Experience with CMMS programs – preferably SAP PM.
