JOB SUMMARY
Directs and supervises daily maintenance activities on the off-shifts and serves as a technical leader for the development, implementation and support of the corresponding equipment required to produce products with minimum downtime while leading and directing maintenance technicians.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct and lead maintenance technicians.
- Work with production supervision to schedule maintenance activities based on equipment, manpower, and spare parts availability.
- Ensure that all safety, mistake/error-proofing devices are operational and function correctly, and equipment governance settings are respected. Provide reports and trending as required to drive a data-driven approach to continuous improvement.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Identify material requirements for planned maintenance activities and assist in preparing materials for work to be completed.
- Help coordinate predictive maintenance activities such as infrared, vibration, and oil analysis. Ensure proper follow-up work orders are generated based on these reports.
- Manage the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment to ensure that inventory cost is minimized; ensure critical spare parts and services are available on short notice in the event of a breakdown; and ensure parts are available to conduct maintenance.
- Communicates directly with all departments to coordinate maintenance, changes, and repair work.
- Participation in the Layered Process Audit schedule.
- Participation in the Internal ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Audit schedule (applies only to certified ISO 9001/IATF 16949 internal auditors).
- Participation and cooperation in answering questions and providing information for internal and external audits regarding or related to ISO 9001/IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and customer standards.
- Any task deemed necessary by management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- HS diploma/GED + advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and a strong PLC background.
- USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training, 5 to 7 years. Project manager experience preferred.
- 7 years of previous employment in a manufacturing environment – automotive preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing plant preferred.
