Assistant Logistics Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for executing the daily operations of the Materials Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitors production entry, receipts, scrap entry, and other inventory-related data on the computer to accurately maintain inventory levels of production material.
2. Confers with other departments to coordinate flow of materials and resolve errors.
3. Monitors the scheduling of incoming production material to ensure adequate inventory levels.
4. Analyzes cycle count adjustments to ensure accurate inventory accountability and make recommendations to the Plant Director.
5. Expedites incoming material as required.
6. Reviews weekly release data to include Demand Management, MRP – SAP, and Eclipse
7. Monitors suppliers and commercial carriers to ensure that deliveries scheduled are consistently met and any errors rectified on a timely basis.
8. Reviews customer pull sheets and prepares load sheets and communicates shipment requirements to all shipping personnel.
9. Monitors outgoing customer shipments to ensure ASN’s are sent timely, and all shipping documents are completed correctly.
10. Manages shipping personnel as needed.
11. Writes procedures as directed for Receiving, Material Flow, etc. Assists in training as required.
12.Participation in the Layered Process Audit schedule.
13. Participation in the Internal ISO/TS 16949 Audit schedule (applies only to certified ISO/TS 16949 internal auditors).
14. Participation and cooperation in answering questions and providing information for internal and external audits regarding or related to ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, and customer standards.
15. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. BS in Operations Management, Logistics, or other similar type of business curriculum.-or- 3 plus years of experience in a scheduling/inventory control role in a manufacturing environment;
2. Experience in supervising other employees.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Familiarization with MRP and scheduling concepts, preferably SAP;
2. Exceptional computer skills, particularly with Excel and Production and Inventory Control Systems
