Summary

Manage all aspects of maintenance on production equipment and facilities. Drive uptime improvement efforts by implementing a preventive maintenance program and coordinating all corrective maintenance activities. Ensure that proper staffing, training, tools, and maintenance plans are in place to maximize equipment availability in the most cost-efficient manner. The Assembly 1 Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the daily management and efficient operations of the Press department on his or her assigned shift. The Maintenance Manager will ensure that Assembly 2 lines meet production, safety, quality goals according to Gestamp Automotive standards. This position will support production and maintenance to minimize downtime and seek continuous improvement activities to improve operations of the Assembly 2 Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance management by supervising maintenance personnel and establishing priorities in maintenance schedules. Manages maintenance personnel by setting direction and priorities.
  • Maintains manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice approvals, and manages the department R&M.
  • Manages maintenance personnel by setting direction and priorities.
  • Provides training and continuous development on all maintenance personnel.
  • Performs Performance Evaluations on direct reports twice a year.
  • Verifies Performance Evaluations are being performed on technical work force by his/her direct report.
  • Drives the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, not reactive.
  • Performs other duties by coordinating work with outside inspections, providing project management, ensuring safety of personnel, and performing other duties as required.
  • Managing, maintaining, and establishing maintenance procedures for production lines in a manufacturing environment to ensure production meets or performs better than budget.
  • Developing and maintaining quality standards.
  • Developing and maintaining associate safety standards
  • Develop associate and supervisor skills by conducting training meetings; one on one development sessions; outside technical skills training; and establishing and monitoring performance reviews for supervisors.
  • Participate in designing and developing future production capacities by attending design meetings; coordinating with Quality Engineers regarding product changes and improvements; and updating maintenance operating procedures and schedules to incorporate the changes.
  • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively
  • Schedule both internal and external work(s) maximizing planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime
  • Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year college degree in Engineering or similar is preferred.
  • 8+ yrs. of industrial maintenance experience in automotive industry
  • Hot stamping, sheet metal, robotic welding, material handling, laser cutting and shot blasting experience.
  • Experience with CMMS programs – preferably SAP PM.
