JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities. The HR Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) Department, including recruitment, staffing, onboarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and administration of company policies and practices.  The Human Resource Generalist is the first point of contact in Human Resources for Associates, Team Leaders, and Supervisors to provide advice and support on employee relations issues. This role is critical in promoting a positive One Team culture within the business.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole and to improve the employee experience.  
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.  
  • Provides support to managers and supervisors for conflict resolution, performance issues, and disciplinary issues.
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.  
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Coordinates with various managers to understand operational hiring needs.
  • Manages temp to hire program
  • Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross -function departments to deliver an exceptional first day experience
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data in HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.  
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to payroll, compensation, benefits, and leave of absence.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.  
  • Assist in developing and implementing employee recognition and engagement activities
  • Support employee engagement surveys and give actionable insights to improve employees’ experience
  • Support with the development and implementation of training and development programs for employees
  • Performs any other duties as deemed necessary or appropriate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent job experience;
  • 3-5 years of experience in the HR field. 
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification peferred, but not required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Able to handle the stress of a fast-paced environment.
