Job Summary
- Administrate and communicate supplier demand to assure delivery of product to the plant in time and quantity.
Duties and Resposiblities
- Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements
- Create Purchase Orders and Scheduling Agreements for all raw steel and purchased components within the plant.
- Generate and communicate to supply base plant demand using SAP for planning.
- Participate in engineering changes and new launches meetings.
- Follow up with suppliers discrepancies.
- Monitors and reports receipts, production, scrap, and other inventory-related data on the computer to accurately maintain inventory levels of production material;
- Confers with other departments to coordinate flow of materials and resolve errors;
- Monitors the scheduling of incoming production material to ensure adequate inventory levels;
- Analyzes cycle count adjustments to ensure accurate inventory accountability and make recommendations to the Materials Manager;
- Expedites incoming material as required;
- Reviews weekly release data to include Demand Management, MRP – MAPICS , and SAP;
- Monitors suppliers and commercial carriers to ensure that deliveries scheduled are consistently met and any error rectified on a timely basis;
- Writes procedures as directed for Receiving, Material Flow, etc. Assists in training as required;
- Support team functions by:
- Kaizen submittal and implementation
- Cross-training with others
- Backfills other materials positions as needed
- Problem solving
- Supports materials metrics and meets materials needs
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred o r 3-5 years manufacturing/planning
- SAP experience preferred
