Procurement Specialist - West Virginia

Job Summary

Assists with the procurement & distribution of materials used in employee supplies, and building maintenance. This includes tooling, resources, operating supplies, and services by followed acceptable purchasing practices.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for technical commodities in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with company requirements for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Responsible for buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective way; while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications met.
  • Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new products.
  • Understanding of Engineering/Maintenance/Tooling specification files for negotiating processes
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings
  • Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, particularly in Hot and Cold Stamping, laser trim, and assembly.
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate terms with new vendors
  • Help to lower overall purchasing cost
  • Register new vendors in Fullstep 
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action.
  • Ensure compliance of SAP and Full Step systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, Procurement preferred
  • SAP experience
