Job Summary
Assists with the procurement & distribution of materials used in employee supplies, and building maintenance. This includes tooling, resources, operating supplies, and services by followed acceptable purchasing practices.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for technical commodities in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
- Ensure supplier compliance with company requirements for safety and environmental compliance.
- Responsible for buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective way; while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications met.
- Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new products.
- Understanding of Engineering/Maintenance/Tooling specification files for negotiating processes
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, particularly in Hot and Cold Stamping, laser trim, and assembly.
- Obtain quotes and negotiate terms with new vendors
- Help to lower overall purchasing cost
- Register new vendors in Fullstep
- Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action.
- Ensure compliance of SAP and Full Step systems
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, Procurement preferred
- SAP experience
